Fantastic for little hands
My three year old loved this so much that the family heard about it and now we have seven. The wooden pieces are so sturdy that they stand up to the hoards running over them (which- never happens because my house is so clean... ok I can't even TYPE that with a straight face). The designs are large, bright and beautiful, and they go together well.

Challenging fun puzzle
I got this for my 2 yo who loves puzzles. Initially she couldn't do the puzzle on her own and needed a lot of direction, but after several goes at it she can do it herself. And the challenge has kept her interested -- initially she did it over and over. A few months in she can now do it herself and still enjoys it but isn't doing it several times over. The pieces are nice and big for her to grasp, and she has no trouble slotting them into place. The board it comes on is nice and sturdy, and has survived general toddler roughhousing well. Nicely made, brightly colored and engaging.

Great Puzzle for a Three Year Old!
Just perfect for my three year old daughter. Melissa & Doug is her favorite brand for puzzles - the pieces are easy to grab, the puzzle is challenging but not so much so for a toddler and the picture is bright and fun. Highly durable as our other M&D puzzles have held up through three children now. Highly recommend!

My grandsons have all loved doing this puzzle.
Another winner by Melissa & Doug. I bought this for my "Nana Stash" of things to entertain my grandchildren. In turn, the younger ones have all enjoyed doing this puzzle over and over. It is sturdy enough to have withstood 4 little boys for a couple of years so far. They find the puzzle appealing because of the sea creatures and it doesn't look intimidating. Two 5 year olds could do it on their own from the first; the 4 year olds needed just a little encouragement.

Better than cardboard i think
The puzzle is wooden as stated. The board is thin and the pieces are wooden, but they're so thin that they feel like regular cardboard pieces. The puzzle pieces are not easy for a toddler to place together since they need to be snapped in with some force. The top of the board is blank, so a toddler would be putting this puzzle together on top of the board with no help/reference unless you are using a tabletop since there is a sticker that shows the completed puzzle image on the bottom of the board. The image is nice, and the puzzle is still nice. 5 stars because cardboard is still flimsier and probably more "toxic" somehow when compared to wooden parts. Plus, if you take good care of this puzzle, it will probably last longer than a cardboard puzzle

My son has wonderful wooden jigsaw puzzles in school that he loves so ...
I had previously given this a 2 star and expressed my disappointment with the puzzle thickness and how it didn't assemble and disassemble as easily as older M and D puzzles.. Evidently, M and D does market research and my son loves this puzzle and is enjoying it immensely. Maybe it's just me who wanted thicker wooden pieces that assemble and disassemble with more ease. He's really enjoying it and i apologize for my previous low review.

Colorful fun puzzle for a toddler!
I bought this puzzle for my almost 2 1/2 year old who loves completing puzzles. This puzzle is beautiful! It is colorful, fun, and engaging. The sea creatures pop out at you with vibrancy and we have fun identifying all of the different animals. The puzzle feels sturdy and well made which is crucial with a toddler. Unlike cardboard puzzles which bend easily, this puzzle is made from solid constructed wood. The pieces, since they are wood, can be a little tight to get into some spots but it hasn't been an issue and my child doesn't seem to have a problem getting them all in place. Now that he has mastered this one, I think it's time to graduate to the 48 pc puzzles next!

So cute!
Great puzzle! Both our 2 and 3 year old put it together on their own and love it. The picture is so cute. It is very sturdy and will last a long time. We have other older Melissa and Doug puzzles that are over 10 years old and still look brand new. I expect this will be the same :)

2.5 toddler’s favorite sea puzzle
My 2.5 year old son just loves this puzzle! I honestly did not even know he was into puzzles until his daycare provider told me how much he loves this particular one by Melissa and Doug. The puzzle pieces are made of wood and seem to be very durable. Like other quality M&D educational toys, I expect it will last a long time!

Sturdy Wooden Pieces
I really like this puzzle because it has sturdy, wooden pieces. They are easy to pick up and press down without messing up the rest of the puzzle because they fit snugly into a nice wooden tray. I agree with some other reviewers who say that this puzzle needs an image card with it so the kids remember what to look for when putting the puzzle together. Overall I think the quality is great for the price and love all the ocean animals included in the picture on this puzzle and how colorful they are.
